What We Believe

One God

To understand our doctrine, you must first understand that there is only one God. Below are some scriptures that confirm there is only one God.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

John 10:30 I and my father are one.

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism.

Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.

Therefore, we believe there is only one Lord and his name is Jesus.

Salvation

In Acts 2:37-38 it says

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Therefore, we believe that repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost by the evidence of speaking in other tongues are essential for salvation.

Scriptures for Repentance

Luke 5 :32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Scriptures for Baptism In Jesus Name

Luke 24:45-47

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Acts 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 19:4-5

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus

Scriptures for Receiving the Holy Ghost

Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Acts 2:1-4

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

(To be born of the water, we must be baptized in Jesus name, and to be born of the Spirit, we must receive the Holy Ghost.)

Therefore, we can now see that according to the Bible, we must repent, be baptized in Jesus name, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost in order to be saved.
